OWNER's MANUAL FOR YOUR DOG:
8 weeks
- First trip to the doctor for physical examination and consultation to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding your puppy's health and growth.
- first DHPP (Distemper-Hepatittis-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus) and Bordetella vaccinations.
- Test stool sample for parasites.
- Start puppy on heartworm preventative. (Start your puppy at this early age and blood testing for heartworm is unnecessary).
- Begin basic puppy training.
12 weeks
- Second DHPP vaccination.
- Start brushing your puppy's teeth to keep teeth clean and gums healthy.
16 weeks
- Third DHPP vaccination.
- First rabies vaccination (Good for 1 year.)
1 year
- Change your dog's diet to a premium adult diet.
15 months
- Rabies vaccination. This vaccine is effective for 3 years.
Every Year
- Booster vaccinations for DHPP and Bordetella.
- A physical exam is highly recommended for early detection of problems.
